Jay Cutler unretires to join Dolphins on 1-year, $10 million deal

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Dolphins and QB Jay Cutler are finalizing a one-year deal. According to Schefter, the two parties are expected to hammer out an agreement in the near future.

Jeff Darlington says that the money the Dolphins were offering was high enough to convince Cutler to return.

Reports indicated that a deal between the Dolphins and Cutler was progressing and that HC Adam Gase was fairly persuasive in convincing him to join them for the 2017 season.

The fact that Cutler is willing to leave his new broadcasting job for this opportunity is a clear indication that Ryan Tannehill will not only miss an extended period of time, but he could end up undergoing knee surgery to fully repair his ACL.

Cutler, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2006. He spent three years in Denver before he was traded to the Bears in 2009.
