John Fox: Bears Mike Glennon to remain starter following opener

Mike Glennon was absolutely atrocious in his preseason opener for the Chicago Bears. The high-priced free agent signing threw this ill-advised pick six in his first possession and ultimately finished the game with a zero quarterback rating.

Meanwhile, rookie No. 2 overall pick Mitch Trubisky dominated the Denver Broncos reserves to the tune of 18-of-25 passing for 166 yards and a score. He also added 38 yards on three rush attempts.

Despite this, Bears head coach John Fox noted Thursday night that the teams quarterback depth chart will remain unchanged.

Our depth chart is not going to change after one game. Thats a really good defense our first unit went against, probably one of the top three defenses in the league, Fox said, via ESPN. You have to look at a lot of different things. I can understand how you guys might think [we could make a change], but were not going to change a whole lot after one game.

While Bears fans might be clamoring for Trubisky to start, Fox is 100 percent correct in his assessment. As to where Trubisky was going up against reserves, some of whom might not make the Broncos 53-man roster, Glennon was taking on one of the top defenses in the NFL.
